What Now?

With all the excitement and fervor of an election season that lasted almost twenty months fading away, an ugly reality has set in.  A flailing economy is now actually the main concern for most Americans and not just a talking point for politicians.  While many have already been effected by the devastation of the crisis, I have just began to understand the sheer magnitude of what is happening.  I personally know of five people who have been laid off.  This number may seem small to the millions of people who have been forced into resume sprucing, but to me it very clearly reflects that the economy has no prejudices, no bounds and no pre-conditions.  We as Americans have a knack for taking things for granted and at no time in my brief existence have I discounted the importance of stick-to-itness that I am embracing today.  Barack Obama has given us hope, but it is now our to job to give him something to be hopeful for.  It is easy to give in to the darkness but that will never bring you to the light.  While January 20 is only a mere 10 weeks away, American life is happening right now.  Make the best of it.
